How to Ping a Website and Interpret the Result
A ping test sends a small network probe and measures whether a response returns and how long the round trip takes. It is a quick diagnostic signal for connectivity and latency, not a complete website health check.
What a ping result can show
A successful response can indicate that a reachable host answered the probe from the testing location. Response time provides a rough latency signal. Repeated results can help you compare conditions, but network paths vary by location, time, routing, and congestion.
How to run a basic check

Why a website can work when ping fails
Some hosts or firewalls block ICMP-style ping traffic while still serving web requests. A timeout can therefore mean filtering, routing trouble, or an unavailable host; it does not prove that the website's HTTP service is down. Similarly, a successful ping does not prove that pages, APIs, or TLS are working correctly.
