About Base64 to Image

Base64 to Image converts a Base64 data URL into a downloadable image. It is the fastest way to recover an image embedded in CSS, HTML or JSON.

How to use it

  1. Paste a data URL or a raw Base64 string. The image appears and can be downloaded.

Common use cases

  • Extracting images from CSS. Recovering logos from emails. Inspecting data URLs.

Images are everywhere inside code — as data URLs in CSS, as inline attachments in HTML emails, and as string fields in JSON payloads — but in that form they are just long Base64 text. When you need the actual picture back, this converter turns a Base64 data URL or raw Base64 string into the image it represents.

It is the reverse of embedding: instead of reading the browser encoding, you paste the encoded text and receive the visual. Because conversion happens locally, sensitive images are never uploaded, and the original quality of the embedded image is preserved exactly.

How to Use Base64 to Image

  1. Copy the Base64 data URL or raw string from your file.
  2. Paste it into the converter.
  3. Download the recovered image.

Practical Use Cases

Extract an image embedded in a stylesheet so you can save or edit it, recover a logo placed inline in an email template, and pull a picture stored as a JSON field out of an API response for inspection.

What You Can Paste

The tool accepts both a full data URL (the data:image/...;base64,... form) and a bare Base64 string. Either way the matching image is recreated for download.

Base64 to image — common questions

What does a data URL look like?

It starts with data: followed by the image type, then ;base64, and then the long encoded string. Pasting that full form works, and a bare Base64 string works too.

Is the image quality changed?

No. The decoder reconstructs the exact same image bytes, so resolution and quality are identical to what was originally encoded.

Where are such images usually found?

Inline CSS backgrounds, HTML email attachments, and image fields in JSON or database exports — anywhere a system stores a picture as text instead of a separate file.
