About this converter

Colors on screens are defined using a few interchangeable notations. HEX writes a color as a six-digit or eight-digit hash string such as #FF5733, compact and widely used in CSS. RGB lists the three additive primary channels red, green and blue, each from 0 to 255. RGBA adds an alpha channel between 0 and 1 for transparency. HSL describes a color by hue (0–360 degrees), saturation (0–100%) and lightness (0–100%), which designers find more intuitive to reason about, and HSLA adds alpha. This converter translates any of these notations into any other, so a color you see in HEX can be pasted into a design tool that expects RGB, or the transparency you need in RGBA can be expressed as the HSLA equivalent. Because all conversions keep the exact numeric values, the color rendered on screen is identical whichever notation you use. Use it when extracting a color from a website, matching brand palettes between CSS and image editors, generating gradients, or communicating a shared color to a teammate who prefers a different format. The tool also supports eight-digit HEXA (with alpha) and four-digit shorthand variants.
