About the Website Hosting Checker

The Website Hosting Checker resolves the IP address behind a domain and reports the ASN, hosting provider and approximate location of the host.

How to use it

  1. Enter the domain.
  2. The tool resolves the IP and reports provider details.

When to use it

  • Verifying a successful migration.
  • Investigating performance complaints.
  • Confirming that DNS points to the right provider.

Who actually runs a website? Behind any domain is an IP address, a network (ASN** and a hosting provider, and knowing those tells you a lot: whether a site sits on shared hosting or a CDN, whether a migration actually landed, and where in the world the server lives. This checker resolves a domain and reports that picture.

Type any domain and it returns the IP it currently points to, the organization that owns that network, and an approximate location — useful whenever you suspect a misconfiguration or simply want to know where a site runs.

How to Use the Website Hosting Checker

  1. Enter a domain name, for example example.com.
  2. The tool resolves the current IP and looks upthe provider, ASN and location.
  3. Read the details to confirm where and how the site is hosted.

Practical Use Cases

Verify that a migration moved your site to the intended provider, investigate why a site feels slow by learning how remote samples are loaded, confirm that DNS points at the right hosting account, and get a quick sense of which networks your competitors rely on.

Hosting checks — common questions

Is this the same as my hosting already?

It resolves where the domain points right now. If you sit behind a CDN orproxy, the IP reported may be the CDN edge rather than your raw server, which is normal and still useful.

Why would the provider differ from what I expected?

DNS changes, CDNs and load balancers all alter how a domain resolves. If the result looks unexpected, check whether a CDN or a recent DNS change explains it.

Does it work for any domain?

Public domains with resolvable DNS records return a result. Domains with no live record or internal-only names may not resolve cleanly.
